American singer and rapper, Ratna Zandile Dlamini known professionally as Doja Cat, has announced that her upcoming album will consist of different genres of music.
Although Doja couldn’t reveal any specifics, she said the new album’s energy is grounded in how each new song has its own personality.
The ‘say so’ singer in an interview with MTV news stated that she’s trying to cover all basis with her album.
“I have my album coming, can’t say when. I really want to make it a surprise. I don’t want to say too much. It’s not gonna be perfectly consistent — I’ve never been, anyway. But we have some dancehall stuff on there, some Afrobeat stuff, some funk, house. I’m trying to cover all bases.”
Doja Cat who made her debut at the 2020 MTV VMA was awarded the PUSH Best New Artist award for the year under review.
