Manager of Asante Kotoko kid Matthew Cudjoe, Samuel Anim Addo is optimistic of a possible Black Stars call up and believes the boy will grab the opportunity should it avail before them.
Cudjoe has taken football fanatics by surprise after his impressive performance for Asante Kotoko in their league campaign making him the most talked about in recent days.
The 16-year-old cam on as a substitute to win a late penalty for the Porcupine Warriors which was converted by Naby Keita to hand them a vital win over their arch rivals Accra Hearts of Oak at the Ohene Djan sports stadium on Sunday.
Despite his age, many fans who have watched him in several games have begun calling on Black Stars coach CK Akonnor to consider calling the youngster into the to the senior national team, and his manager Samuel Anim Addo has endorsed the call. When asked whether he endorses the call for a Black Stars call up for Matthew Cudjoe, Anim Addo answered in admiration of the idea.
“What I can say is that we have to leave everything to the [technical handlers] handlers”, Anim Addo told FOX FM. “If God permits and the handlers said they want to give the kid that platform why not, we will grab that platform and we will not disgrace Ghanaians”, he admirably stated.
“I thank all Ghanaians for accepting the kid, I’m excited, I heard a lot of Hearts of Oak fans saying he is good for Ghana, a wonderful talent which they like, that’s what I like, because he is a property of Ghana let us all protect him and help make him the super star Ghana wants”.
